Nothing replaces one-on-one assessment. You are only as strong as your weakest link. Addressing the weaknesses in the body will allow for better performance, while making exercise a challenge without being painful. At that point, the next step is to work strategically towards an individual's realistic goal(s). This is usually better known as 1-on-1 training or PERSONAL training.
